Pam Joyce is a theatre director and educator
who is comfortable in university and
professional settings. She is inspired by strong marginalized (especially female) voices and new plays that combine theatre with modern dance, visual arts and digital media. As a collaborator, she thrives with artistic teams that explore process as well as product. Her teaching has earned her praise both from students and administration. She believes in hands on, collaborative learning which feeds the artist scholar or global citizen. Pam has assisted several directors at LORT and equity theaters including Moritz von Stuelpnagel, Aaron Posner, and Kenny Leon. She is a creative, innovative thinker, a present and attuned listener, and a supportive, observant leader. Her areas of interest are directing, acting, movement, physical theatre, new play development, and theatre for social change. Her passion for fun, imaginative play and hard work combined with her knowledge and experience of theatre administration make her comfortable in many environments and situations in the theatre as well as a joy to work with. She was a 2017 member of Directors Lab North (Toronto) and is an Associate Member of SDC.
